Mid-season recap:

At 5-2, the City Rocks have to be pleased with where they stand after two sessions. They've found a star in Anthony Gaines, and have battled in all seven games. They could very well be undefeated, with a couple of narrow losses in Indianapolis as the blemishes on their record. Minus ideal size, this squad has all of the aspects of a Peach Jam contender. They play as a team, employ a gritty mental mindset and have proven they can hang with anyone.

The Star(s):

As mentioned before, the veteran Gaines (16.4 PPG, 11.3 RPG) has turned into a stud for the Rocks. He was named 1st Team All-Brooklyn and 3rd Team All-Indianapolis, and averages a double-double through seven games. Andrew Platek, fresh off an offer from Roy Williams & North Carolina, gives the Rocks a sharpshooter and lockdown defender in their arsenal. These two have been remarkably consistent during their evolution with the City Rocks, and there's no reason to think they won't continue their success.

The Supporting Cast:

Kristers Zoriks is the floor general for Albany, recently picking up his first high major offer from Wake Forest. Zoriks (6.0 PPG, 3.9 APG, 3.0 RPG) should get more comfortable with the physicality of the EYBL in sessions two and three. Hameir Wright (12.0 PPG, 5.1 RPG) and Nahziah Carter (9.9 PPG, 3.9 RPG) give the Rocks two double-figure scorers in the frontcourt, with the high-motorized Wright being considered high-major prospect. They don't bring much depth to the table, but their major contributors have proven they can compete with anyone in the EYBL.

Session 3/4 Outlook:

The Rocks look to be in favorable position to secure a Peach Jam berth, with six of their final nine opponents coming into sessions two & three under .500. Gaines looks like a man possessed, and Platek can light you up for 25+ in any matchup. They face a few squads who have underperformed, so it's crucial that the Rocks come into Hampton as  if they were playing entirely heavy hitters. Their toughest matchup on paper comes against E1T1 in session three.
